Kato USA has determined that modelers operating DCC systems will need to make a minor adjustment to a motor lead for proper DCC operation. This adjustment is required to prevent failure of the DCC decoder. Only the lead on the side circled below requires adjustment.

Please note that Kato USA does not provide DCC installation or technical support. This procedure is an intermediate step required for proper DCC operation prior to installing a DCC decoder.

This adjustment is NOT required for use with conventional DC operation.

To prevent motor lead from touching circuit board trace (see blue circle), please follow this procedure.

Step 1. Remove clip for motor lead and expose hole under lead.

Step 2. Insert motor lead through bottom of hole in circuit board.

Step 3. Bend motor lead toward edge of board (away from trace), and reinstall clip.
